The New Leaf

I have always been a bit of a 'tree hugger'.

To me they have such majesty. The fist leaves are so vibrant and fresh.

The big ones are just awesome. Vicky lives right nearby the Giant Redwoods and we have hiked through there.

Sometimes it's the little guys that steal the show. This little feller was shouting out to me.

Flying Horse

I could do with one of these!

A Day of Two Halves

Up and out again at the crack of dawn. I am still not sleeping well but at least I get an early start.

The first part of the day takes me through a collection of pretty little Worcestershire Villages. I am planning on stopping at a nice coffee shop that I know in Barnt Green. That is 14 miles away or 4 hours.....it seems a long way to go for a cup of coffee!

The second part of the day will be up into the West Midlands and into Birmingham...perhaps not quite so pretty.

Mark and Katie are joining me for the last 3 or 4 miles down the Canal and into the City Centre.

Cheltenham to Flyford Flavell

Another good day

I haven't been following any news but a couple of people I have spoken to have mentioned the poor air quality. It has been very 'heavy' and muggy....a strange phenomena.

Over all the day was good, I haven't been so conscious of my blister and consequently my walking style was better. I probably went a little too quickly but I was feeling good and cracked on. It is so much better with an early finish.

I am staying at the aptly named 'Boot Inn' at Flyford Flavell.

Mark came down to join me for dinner. The food was excellent, it was a nice evening.

The Free Radio Phantom

I stopped for lunch at a very nice tea room in Pershore.

'Sarah Jaynes Tea Room'

The girls in the shop kept looking at me and finally one of them asked if I was the 'Free Radio Phantom'......is he dressed as a hiker?...nobody knows what he looks like, he asks a riddle and if you get the answer you win money (£4000).

So, they were disappointed but still gave me a big smile.

Happy Days

A Proper Cuppa

A converted old bus that is now a roadside cafe.

A proper mug of tea for 60p.

It's the simple things in life that are best.

And the New!!

It doesn't look new but it's not very old!

The Old

Just leaving Cheltenham. On the road for 7:00, it's nice and cool... Perfect.
