Left Mark in bed!!!.. These youngsters eh.

Today will be different. After a couple of flat days I am heading up the hills. It is raining and the wind has turned from the north.

The Derbyshire Dales

Drystone Walling....it must be Derbyshire.

My Bestest Buddie

One of my best buddies who unfortunately I don't see a lot of these days and my companion for the day..... Mark Shea.

We have played a lot of golf over the years and shared some good times.
He is also a mad keen Liverpool fan , so a very happy bunny.

Happy Days

Sad to leave home again

I have spent three lovely nights at home. Sue has cooked nice dinners and really looked after me. Not to mention all of the ferrying around.

So, it is with heavy heart that I pack my bag to leave. A long drive for Sue again, to drop me in Ashbourne.

Ewen, Jenny and little old me

A Live Birth

Wow, I stopped at Hadleigh Farm and they were lambing.

This little fellow just arrived!

Country Sounds

I love the sounds of the country. The great variety of birdsong.

This morning a couple of Rookeries...huge great things 'squawking' away. Also Woodpeckers, I can hear them hammering away but can never see them!

And then it's Sunday morning and Clay Pigeon Shooting. I can hear the guns 'popping' away.

Day 15

Up early again and Sue has driven me the short distance from our house back to Armitage.

This section today I have walked many times and is a pleasant stroll meandering through the lanes of Staffordshire. One blog I read some time ago from a guy doing the same walk described this section as 'the most uninteresting'. I find this very hard to believe and if so he must have chosen a pretty spectacular route!!

I have company to look forward to today as Ewen and Jenny are joining me for the last 10 miles.

Jenny is Sues sister and my 'emergency call' for any problems with my feet. Ewen is a 'Cuthbertson' and as you may have guessed hails from 'over the border'. A quick hello to the rest of the 'cubbys' Holly,Amy and Katelyn.
