A Meeting with Friends

A couple of nice surprises today. I walked past my golf club but was a little too early for my pals. I did however see John Goodman and stopped for a chat.

The photo shows Alan and Annette (Ryder Cup Friends)....Sue snook on as well.

My route took me past their house in 'Hanch'. I knocked the door but they were out. Alan rung to say that he was in Lichfield. They rushed over and we met up in a Pub at my finishing point in Armitage.

Alan and Annette have there own adventure this year. Climbing Kilimanjaro in July.

Lichfield

I like Lichfield, my mum lives here and I live just down the road. And not forgetting 'Tom and Joy' who are currently on holiday in Hattiesburg.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA

A quick word of thanks to my mum. They do say that it is all about the genes. My mum certainly gave me a good set!

The Grand National

It's Grand National Day.

There's a horse running called 'Walk On'.

Surely worth a little flutter!

The Post Office Tower

There are a lot nicer views of Birmingham but I am not walking past them....my legs have told me to go in a straight line!

It is however one of the most Iconic landmarks.

The Luxury of my own Bed

I drove back home yesterday and spent a nice evening with Sue.

I can't begin to tell you how nice it was to sleep in my own bed! And, I had a really good nights sleep which was much needed.

On the scales this morning and I am 12 stone. 9 pounds. That is a loss of just 2 pounds. Very pleased, if I maintain that it would just be a loss off half a stone over the walk.

The Old and the New

I was joined on the last leg into town on the canal with Mark, Katie and Ed.

It is a good view of the University Tower.

Wragges put a small reception on and people came down to meet me. It was good to chat.

It still seems incredible to me that I have walked from Lands End to Birmingham in 13 days.
